Introduction:
Spoiler
When looking at the AD Carry role the first thing that comes to mind is that it’s very unique in nature because it is the only lane with 2 players. What this means is that you need to work together to be successful in this lane. Both the support and the ADC rely heavily on each other not just in the laning phase of the game, but throughout. Communication is key,try to match your aggression with your support, as well as your passivity. Being on the same page will go miles in lane. Ping your intentions, and if they don’t understand what you’re pinging than quickly type something out to him. Most of the things that go wrong in bot lane are because the support and the ADC were not on the same page at the right time.
First thing to take note of is that as a ADC you will get camped, no matter what. If ADC is the role you want to play, then these are the things you are going to have to deal with. Everyone that plays this game knows, shut down the ADC and it makes the game much simpler to win. Now just because you are getting camped doesn't mean it give you the right to rage out your jungler as to blame him for you getting camped. That wasn't how it works. Play safe, ward up and hopefully you get some kind of help to counteract the pressure that you’re receiving. As an ADC your #1 goal is to stay alive in every phase of the game. Beginning middle and end, so if that means losing a wave of cs or not flashing in to attempt to get that last hit that MAY kill the opponent so be it. (Side note: As the ADC don’t always think you have to carry. If your team is destroying the other team and you are getting camped. It doesn't really matter because your team will probably win if you isn't dying every time you get ganked. You need to know the difference between the games you need to do everything you can do to carry and make big plays and when you can just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Lane Phase:
Spoiler
During the laning phase of the game as an ADC you are mostly relying on your support for any kind of aggression. The supports are the ones with the catch/initiation skills, so even if you feel that “OMG WE CAN KILL THEM RIGHT NOW” and your support isn’t going in, don’t go in trying to bait him into a fight, because 9 times out of 10 you’ll miss-position and get caught and you guys will end up losing the 2v2. Remember patience is a virtue and you need a lot of it to play ADC effectively. Mostly during this stage of the game you are just trying to get your CS high. Try to last hit as many minions as you possible can during this time, don’t really worry about kills. I mean if the kills are free then take them, but don’t try to force it. Also you want to attempt to deny as much CS from your opponent as in any possible safety ways. This means not only look at the life bars on the minions you are trying to kill, but also try to keep track of the minions your opponent is trying to farm as well. And when you see it low and you know he’s going to try to attack it hit him in the face and punish him for getting the CS.(Side note: If your jungler is getting invaded on, but you don’t have a safe route to go and help him, don’t go you will just be adding fuel to a very bad fire. On that same note though don’t sacrifice your jungler for a few extra CS. Saving your junglers life, even if you don’t get any kills is a positive +300g for your team opposed to maybe 50g you are losing out from CS.)
Mid Game:
Spoiler
At this point in the game you should be having 1-2 items depending on how well laning phase went and you will be rotating around the map and contesting objectives/pushing towers/trying to pick the enemy in rotations. In this stage of the game it is important that you need to pay attention to whats showing on the map as far as your enemy is concerned, and what can kill you. If you don’t see their mid laner or jungler and you feel like you want to run through your jungle to defend mid, odds are one of them is sitting in a bush along your path waiting to kill you. Take the safest route possible in these situations. Also there is strength in numbers, but don’t sacrifice too much of your cs to do this. If you see a big wave of minions building up in a lane go and clear it and then go back to your team to help them in whatever task they are trying to accomplish. Also just because you are the ADC doesn't mean you don’t need to buy wards. If you have an open slot and 75g buy some wards it only help you. The more knowledge you have the easier it is for you to stay away from threats.
At this point your first team fight will probably break out, usually for an objective or tower. This is where positioning comes into play. Same deal with rotating, KNOW what can kill you and stay as far away as possible from that thing. I know it sounds basic, but I see it all the time where the ADC is focused on trying to kill something and here comes the fizz from his blind side to 1 shot him. Be very aware of your surroundings. Typically as an ADC aside from certain top laners and mid laners everything can kill you, so you won’t want to be standing near any opponents. Also remember at this point your top laner and jungler don’t have to many core items built, so they won’t be as tanky as you would expect. In most cases a front to back mentality is a good thing to have as an ADC during team fights. If you get someone low and they start retreating DO NOT SACRIFICE your positioning to kill him, instead just turn to the next closest target and kill that. Now if you can re-position yourself safely and kill that person, by all means do that, but knowing when you can do that is only going to come from experience.
Late game:
Spoiler
Alright so you have now safely made it through the game and now it’s your time to shine. This is where ADC’s are made. You have most of your core items maybe a defensive item depending on how well laning phase and mid game went for you. STAY ALIVE. I cannot stress this enough, as the ADC you need to stay alive as much as possible in this stage of the game. Not only are you the primary turret killer, but you also do the most damage, if you are dead then you won’t be able to do any damage. Now here’s the thing yes you can stay alive by sitting in your base and not moving an inch, but you will also lose the game. Being the ADC means you have to MAXIMIZE your damage output. This means getting as much damage onto the enemy team as possible while being safe. This is what makes the ADC role a little difficult and you will only get better the more you play. You will start to notice how far you can push your champion to accomplish this task. At this stage of the game you will pretty much be following your team around. As the ADC you aren’t the one dictating where the team is going to be moving. Why you ask? Because you need body guards. It’s on your team to protect you while you go and destroy worlds. NOW not in every game will this be the case. If the enemy ADC is stronger than you, then it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever for your team to focus their strategy on keeping you alive, because it won’t be a winning one. They need to in that situation kill the enemy ADC as soon as possible to lessen his damage output onto them. This means don’t be QQing about how you get no protection, it is YOUR job to keep yourself alive as much as possible. Kite as best you can, dodge as many skill shots as you can and hope your team can accomplish their goal.
Questions:
Spoiler
1. Positioning
( In team fights is very situational on positioning not really something you can learn from a guide. My suggestion is the more you play the more you’ll realize in which spots you can be standing in at certain times to output the most damage while staying alive. Typically the safest place is behind your team and next to your support. )
2. how/when to rotate
( The how to rotate is very simple, you want to go through the areas you have wards or the pathways that you know are safe. This is the easiest place to get caught out and killed, so even if it takes you a few extra seconds to be safe it’s always the better option. This is tricky as an AD carry most of the time you won’t need to rotate only your support will. During this time you need to keep yourself safe in a 2v1, which means just farm as safe as possible and if you have to sacrifice cs to not die or take extra harassment then that’s just what you have to do. Inmost cases in the early game AD carries won’t need to rotate. After you get your IE and Zeal usually the meta game will have started and you should be grouped with your team contesting objectives. )
3. when to take tower/dragon
( Taking dragons is usually easiest after kill or if you see the enemy jungle up at top lane usually after everyone in the game is past level 6. And for towers anytime you have an opportunity to take them its usually best to go ahead and take them )
4. when to push and when not to
( If you have a strong siege comp or champ is always best to push the lanes up to make cs harder on the opposing adc and it’s easier to take down the turret. )
