Payment wall, of course.
And I thought it was instant too. As a matter of fact, when I subbed a few months ago, before I realized it wouldn't work on my updated windows, it was instant.
This time, when I try to renew, it was not instant and nobody is helping me!

I did pay via paypal...
I wound up making a different account and subbing using the same payment method. It was literally instant. Now I get one subscription for the price of two! Yay!
