Hello, guys I've been receiving a lot of messages about errors and GoS not loading or IOW and Inspired menu or any champion script not showing up. (TAKE YOUR TIME READING THIS, IT WILL HELP YOU A LOT. I KNOW IT'S A LOT TO READ, BUT IT'S PRETTY HELPFUL).
First of all I'm going to tell you how your GamingonSteroids map should be like.
You'll find GamingonSteroids map if you go click on the windows tab on your keyboard or if you just manually click on the windows icon on your screen, after that go to documents, after you've done that go to the tab where it says libraries/Documents and just click on the empty space where it is not filled and type in %appdata%.
You'll then find your gamingonsteroids map and these are the files that should be in there.
(NOTE: please do note that if it's the first time you've ever downloaded GoS you will not have the ''Scripts'' folder) and I would strongly reccomend to use this download link for the script folder: https://github.com/I...hive/master.zip) Please do download Winrar as this will help you extracting the .zip that is from @Zypppy. After you've downloaded Winrar, copy the file, go to GoS folder, paste the winrar file in there, and extract it, then you will have ''Script'' folder there.
in that script folder there should be ''Common'' folder and ''Testscript1'' and ''Version''.
It will look like this.
(do note that you shouldn't be touching ''TESTSCRIPT1'' the content of that file should contain of ''require('Inspired') require('IOW') pcall( require, GetObjectName(GetMyHero()) )''
This is how it will look like:
Now remember, here we come to the part where we need a program called ''Notepad++'' all links are posted, right under the guide.
If we take for example D3ftsu's scripts, he has many scripts that's pretty good and working perfectly with daily updates.
As many of you already want to ask ''How do I get Vayne to work, why is he not working, omfg fix this omg this omg that'' Well now I'm posting this to help you and forget about complaining.
follow these pictures step by step and every other script will work too.
My language is in norwegian, but I'll translate everything on the page (that is necessary of course)
DOWNLOADING ANY CHAMPION IS TO BE FOLLOWED WITH THESE 9 STEPS BUT IF IT'S ANOTHER CHAMPION SAVE IT AS THEIR NAME(.LUA)
Step 1: (Click on the Vayne.lua)
Step 2: (You will be directed to this site, and you just have to right click and click on ''SAVE AS'' ( Make sure you're downloading this into the ''Common'' that is to be found in ''GamingoSteroids'' folder
(Save the file as ''Vayne.lua'' (ALWAYS .LUA) and make sure to tick on the ''Filetype'' right under ''Vayne.lua'' and make it so it is saved as ''All files'' Like this:
after that you'll have the Vayne.lua in the common folder, and it should look like this:
Step 4: (Right click that file and edit it with (Notepad++)
Step 5: (This will pop up)
(Click on file, and ''save as''
(After you've clicked on save as you'll get this window, save it as ''Vayne.lua'' or if it was in your case another champion or an utility script just save it as their name with an ''.LUA'' after the script/utility scripts name. and make sure to tick on ''Filetypes'' and save it as ''All Types'' as I'm showing in this picture.
(After you've done that you got yourself the Vayne.lua completed, and the file will show up like this and not as ''text document file''
Step 9: Do the same with ''Testscript1'' document, edit it with (notepad++), save it as (testscript1.lua) and ''All Types''
Now for the vayne script to work perfectly you need to have all the utility scripts that D3ftsu has posted on his thread :
(link not working but, if you click on his thread, and go to vayne, you'll be given a download link, it's called ''Requirments'' click that and then it will direct you to Maxxxels thread and you'll have to click on the ''Download'' (First link that Maxxxel has posted) named '' https://github.com/M.../Common/Utility '' from there you know what to do if you have been paying attention <3
All you have to do now is to do exactly what you did with the ''Vayne.lua'' and save them as their name and ''.LUA'' after their name.
I'll teach you the ways of Github also, first go to github.com and register, after you've done that, follow these people : (@Maxxxel) https://github.com/Maxxxel/GOS, (@Noddy) https://github.com/qqwer1/GoS-Lua, (@Zypppy) https://github.com/Zypppy/Common, (@Shiv) https://github.com/ShivMOD/GoS, (@D3ftsu) https://github.com/D3ftsu/GoS
as they are pretty active and they are doing WORK with their scripts for us leechers The good thing about getting know to github is that you'll know when the Authors have updated their script and when they did that update.
How to download a script from github is pretty easy. I'll post links with pictures on how they are done.
Step 1: Find yourself the one Author that has made a script that you like and want to try out. (remember to follow them and click on ''Watch'' on their Github Page)
Step 2: (You'll get this page after you've clicked on their name or found their name, now click on ''Common''
Step 3: You'll see on ''Maxxxel''s Common folder there is two folders, one named Champions and one named ''Utility'' (For D3ftsu's Vayne to work, you'll need to download every single one of the scripts that is in ''UTILITY'' folder into your ''Common'' folder where you downloaded ''Vayne.lua'' on this step we will click on ''Utility'' folder and then this will show up:
Step 4:(This page will pop up, when you've come this far you're doing a great job! After you've come to this page click on ''RAW'' right beside ''BLAME'' and ''HISTORY''
Step 5: (This page will now pop up and from here you'll need to right click the page, and ''SAVE AS'' (whatever the name of the script you're downloading is named'' in this case it's called ''2DGeometry.lua'' remember to save it in your ''Common'' folder and tick on the ''FILE TYPES'' and tick on ''All Types'' (repeating the same steps as the ''Vayne.lua'' file)just edit it with (Notepad++) save it as(whatever the name of the script is) with ''.LUA'' after it and save it as ''All Types''
ON A SIDE NOTE: Once you've opened ''Loader'' Be sure to tick ''Enable scripts Engine (DEV ONLY ATM) :
Like I have done.
I've made this thread as most of the newcomers have been pming me about their problems and now it's and easier way for me to help them by directing them to this site and also for the people that has not sent me messages but still wondering why GoS won't work or why their scripts won't work, well here you go <3 hope you liked this, Rep+ is always appericiated
As for some other ''scripts/(NotnamedAfterChampionNames)'' that does not use champion names ''EXAMPLE: ''Autoignite'' it should be placed here, in your ''Testscript1.lua'':
Be sure to use (Notepad++) when editing this one also, and add for example in our case ''AutoIgnite'' in this order:
Notepad, Notepad++(LINK: https://notepad-plus-plus.org/ )
Win-rar link: http://www.win-rar.c...start.html?&L=0
Zypppy's link for scripts folder: https://github.com/I...hive/master.zip
Github users in GamingonSteroids: (@Maxxxel) https://github.com/Maxxxel/GOS, (@Noddy) https://github.com/qqwer1/GoS-Lua, (@Zypppy) https://github.com/Zypppy/Common, (@Shiv) https://github.com/ShivMOD/GoS, (@D3ftsu) https://github.com/D3ftsu/GoS
(I hope the guys that I've tagged and taking screenshots of their page will forgive me as I didn't ask them for permission, but I guess that I'll get their permission because this is just for helping the newcomers and for the newcomers to not complain when their GoS folder is not setup correctly, if I'm given permission, thank you all and I hope you like this thread)
Credits: Deftsu, Maxxxel, Zypppy, Shiv, Noddy, Feretorix, Darkness and other contributers(+Actives) for doing awesome work with scripts and databases and updates <3 ( EVERYONE for making this awesome program for us to use).Allin1included(AIO)
If you follow these easy steps I will guarantee you that you will be able to use any script you wan't.
Thank you for reading, I hope you've learned a whole bunch of stuff now and will get that challenjour boarder before season ends .
