ARC Raiders Items can make each expedition more rewarding, but some quests are less about collecting valuable gear and more about discovering the stories hidden across the world. “Keeping the Memory,” given by Celeste, is one of those missions. It sends players into Dam Battlegrounds to locate a First Wave robot wreckage, recover a missing soldier’s helmet, and restore a makeshift memorial. The objectives are close together, but completing them during one raid is essential, so knowing the route beforehand can make the experience much easier.

Know the Quest Requirements

“Keeping the Memory” contains three main objectives. First, you must reach the wreckage in Formicai Hills. Next, you need to search the surrounding area for the missing helmet. Finally, you must carry that helmet to a nearby memorial and place it on a metal stake.

There is an important restriction attached to the mission. All three objectives must be completed within a single raid round. If you are knocked out before placing the helmet on the memorial, the quest progress resets. Because of this, players should focus on completing the mission rather than taking unnecessary risks.

Prepare Before Entering Dam Battlegrounds

A complicated loadout is not required for this mission. Bring a weapon you are comfortable using, enough ammunition, healing supplies, and some free inventory space. The helmet becomes a physical item that needs to be collected, so having room for it is important.

It is also helpful to recognize the surrounding landmarks before deployment. The destination is in the southeastern part of Dam Battlegrounds, specifically within an area called The Wreckage in Formicai Hills. The Scrapyard and Formicai Outpost are nearby reference points, with The Wreckage located just east of them.

Locate the Baron Wreckage

Once you reach the correct part of Formicai Hills, look for the huge rusted Baron ARC husk. Its distinctive spider-like shape makes it the most obvious landmark in the area.

Approach the wreckage until the first quest objective registers. After that, you do not need to search the entire area. The next clue is located around the base of the ruined machine.

Take a moment to check your surroundings before continuing. Other players may pass through the area, and getting involved in an unnecessary fight could put the mission at risk.

Search for the Helmet

The missing helmet is hidden near the north side of the ruined Baron. Look carefully around the base for a small bush or unusual-looking plant. Compared with the enormous machine, this clue is easy to overlook.

When you locate the correct bush, approach it and hold the required interact button. A search timer will appear. Continue the interaction until the timer finishes, at which point a physical helmet will drop onto the ground.

Make sure you pick the helmet up. Searching the plant is only part of the objective. You need the actual item in your inventory before you can restore the memorial.

Find the Memorial

After collecting the helmet, you only need to move a short distance from the search location. Look for a metal pole or stake protruding from the ground.

Approach the pole while carrying the helmet. When you are close enough, a blue holographic helmet prompt should appear above it. Interact with the pole to place the helmet on the memorial.

This action completes the final objective. Once the helmet has been successfully placed, the mission is considered complete, so a later knockout will not reset the completed quest.

Decide Whether to Extract

After restoring the memorial, you can either extract immediately or continue exploring Dam Battlegrounds. If your main goal is simply to finish the quest, extracting is the safer way to secure the rewards.

The Red Lakes Balcony Lift to the northeast is one possible extraction point mentioned in the walkthrough. However, the best route depends on the situation around you. If other players or threats are nearby, adjust your path instead of moving directly through a dangerous area.

If your inventory still has plenty of space and the raid is going well, you can also continue farming after the quest is complete.

Fix a Missing Interaction Prompt

Sometimes the memorial may not behave as expected. You could arrive at the pole and find that a helmet is already attached, or the blue holographic interaction prompt may not appear.

According to the provided quest information, another player's actions can cause the lobby instance to enter an incorrect state. If the memorial cannot be interacted with, continuing to search the same location may not help.

Instead, extract from the current raid and launch a new one. A fresh instance should reset the relevant world details, allowing you to return to the wreckage and attempt the quest again.

Return to Celeste

After completing the memorial and successfully extracting, return to Celeste at Speranza to hand in the quest. The listed rewards are 5 Simple Gun Parts, 5 Duct Tape, and 5 Magnets.

The mission is a useful introduction to environmental objectives because it requires players to recognize a large landmark, locate a small hidden clue, manage an inventory item, and complete a precise interaction.
