I can imagine a lot of the downside of freestyle modes comes from having to defend and doing a spin from a bad angle that takes more time to get to the ball than usual. Even with paddles on my controller I don't have the space for an extra aerial mode. There should be a toggle to avoid freestyling from the defined safezone. Sorry if this is the wrong place for rocket league suggestions

No freestyling in safezone toggle?

Not sure if I understand you correctly, but there's an option called freestyle control and distance, which let's you set a 'safe zone'I can imagine a lot of the downside of freestyle modes comes from having to defend and doing a spin from a bad angle that takes more time to get to the ball than usual. In Safety Zone = true
Safety Zone Distance = 6083.000000
He's probably requesting for the ability to have these 2 cvars manipulate which aerial mode you're using depending on which half of the field you're in

Yes, sorry. Freestyle bot is the go-to for most people according to the poll.
No freestyling (maybe default to normal or alt normal) in your defined freestyle safe zone.
Most of us playing with controllers hardly have any room for more binds than needed so being able to make the most of one single key would be ideal (things like the dribble/aerial bot on one key is incredibly handy)
And alt freestyle mode can handle defending most of the time but if you get a weird angle the rolls will be very wide (not a straight rocket path) and inefficient at reaching the ball in a timely manner. It seems to me that in these situations within a certain distance of your goal it would always be more productive to get to the ball as fast as possible and not spin at all.
More fine tuning to freestyling would make me keep buying this cheat forever. It's great regardless and one of the most unique cheats I've ever seen. Big upps.

You can just bind normal aerial to another hotkey to use for specific situations like that.
After failing about 1000 more times I've found the solution to be approaching all saves from a perpendicular angle, the freestyle bot is deadly accurate with that straight line of attack. And it keeps your momentum up that way too.
Trying to freestyle a ball coming over your head while you're facing the goal seems to be the worst way to defend with freestyle bot but if you give it double jump and hold your aerial bot key without boosting until it aligns correctly you'll have more success.
I'm starting to learn a lot of 'errors' the bot makes are actually just issues with my own boost management and if you let it feather by itself you'll see how you're supposed to be boosting over time. I think feathering gets in the way of setting up smooth ground to air dribbles so I try not to keep it on but it's a great tool for learning how to effectively use the bot.

Yep you definitely learn the pros and cons of everything the more you use it. I find myself using normal mode more than anything else especially at higher ranks because you need that extra speed. I use the freestyle just for turning for really awkward balls. Trying to freestyle up to a ball over your head is not something someone without GoS would do either.
A lot of “errors” people report are actually user error such as positioning, not boosting properly and the angle they approach the ball from. Those things are really important for making sure you’re getting the most out of the bot. If you watch high level pros they are actually rarely freestyling/air rolling unless they are in an air dribble. They generally need to get to the ball extremely fast so they’re normally going in a straight line to the ball.

Indeed after ranking to C2 (doubles) and further it is many more factors for your game than freestyle mechanics, since people easily know how to challenge an air dribble correctly and much more about momentum and control. The script still totally helps although its not just plug and play like in lower ranks.

Which Settings are you using in C2 at the moment?
I only have Alternate Aerial Normal enabled with a Risk Factor of 4.00 ( the lowest ), Wave Dash and Demolition Bot.
I play with Controller and dont have more Keys available.
