If I use GoS on my main for one session an then switch back to a throw away will my main risk a ban or is it whatever you’re using at the time of the ban hammer?

From our experience with bans, they only banned the accounts that had the detected version. In your case for one session, unlikely, but there will always be a risk

If your main account is worth money, don't risk it(the same goes with any games, not only RL) but the tool is currently undetected.
