i have gotten to diamond 3 in ones with this tool but i feel like the biggest thing holding me back from hitting champ or above is my defense. The biggest thing i struggle with is when the other player goes in the air because when im shadowing the aerial bot tries to turn around or wont get to the ball fast enough and sometimes completely misses and its a free goal for the other player. i was wondering if there is any tricks you could do to help on defense

i have the same issue

tbf the tool can't do anything for you. Sometimes when it comes to defends you gotta play youself. This tool is not made to do everything for you because that would ruin the game.
Practice normal defends maps/courses on RL, either with bakkesmod or whatever. 

I do only use the tool for advanced saves (in defends) etc.

Yes, because you can't perfectly configure the tool for both air defense AND scoring. You'll have to choose to specialize in one or the other.
