I know what you’re thinking, but I don’t really see that as the case...
If the entire program was truly detected, a large number of people here (including myself) would already be banned. Yet I’m not, and that applies to every account I’ve ever used it on (around 5). It’s much more likely that he was using it excessively or too obviously, especially in higher ranks where detection becomes easier. For example, I’ve only used it on alt accounts around the GC1 to GC3 range, and none of them have faced bans. Players in those ranks can usually spot clear patterns like demolition bots, unnatural aerials, or constant perfect reads things that stand out quickly.
My take is that he was manually banned after being flagged for suspicious behavior. Either Epic or Psyonix staff reviewed his gameplay after a surge of reports, or they noticed highly irregular performance that warranted a closer look.
Now I'm not saying this is the case but it seems more logical as no other bans has been put forth by other users. You don't necessarily have to be in high ranks for people to notice small irregularities or oddities that some of the features bring.

I wish that were the case, but two of my accounts were hit today.
At first I thought it was because I was touching bannable things while working on V4, but seeing this post makes me believe it was truly a banwave.

It could be specific features. Which ones are you using?

Yeah, it could very well be a banwave, I won’t rule that out.
But V4 itself shouldn’t have anything to do with it to my knowledge, it’s not even out in a form that could trigger bans. If it were directly tied to that, we’d be seeing a much larger number of people getting hit right now. So while I can see how this might look like a "wave" of bans, it still feels more like targeted bans or manual action rather than something automatic hitting everyone using the same tool. I’ve used it across several accounts and none of them have been affected so far.
Though I would think they have put some more detection into place to better target and identify bad actors and the programs being used. So yeah, more security features are definitely a priority as of now, according to me that is.

Unless Heisa has updated injection methods in V4, it very much (not directly the root cause) but affects us on V3.x.x.Yeah, it could very well be a banwave, I won’t rule that out.

I know Psy did something to deter these DDoS issues, so unless how people where DDoS’n used a similar form of injection into the game, my assumptions would be GoS got linked into it but not directly a targeted wave at GoS.
Very much like when the auto-play’s came out when our first wave came. It wasn’t GoS that got hit, just it shared a method that the auto-play bots where also using.
None the less, still have full faith in my boy Heisa and his wizardry. We’ve been here before, and we’ve overcome it before <3

I’m not banned on any of my alts. My guess is Heisa isn’t actually using v4 online in Casual or Competitive while testing; they might be testing in private. It seems more likely OP was manually reported or was using a different tool. I don’t know whether certain injection methods were specifically flagged, but most injection/hooking methods are similar, so a change in the injection method could explain how Heisa got banned. I don’t want to discourage/or offend Heisa's work, but I’m curious how inputs are being sent from GoS. It’s possible Epic is developing a system that flags bots by analyzing input patterns. After you finish initial v4 development, a longer-term project could be input smoothing. Mixing KBM and controller inputs might also trigger detection. I’m not an expert, but from what I’ve seen with the BakkesMod joystick self-check plugin, those input traces (aerial/ground modes, etc.) look very non-human; spiky and erratic. The AI bot likely shows similarly unrealistic movement. Alternatively, Heisa might have touched some detectable area. I’ll try more testing this week to see if I can trigger a ban on a fresh account using different modes.
